The New York State Political Science Association invites proposals for panels and papers for our 79th Annual Conference on Friday, April 11 & Saturday, April 12, 2025. Please visit our website at https://www.nyspsa.org for more information.

The 2025 Annual Conference is scheduled to be live and in-person! However, we request that in-person attendees be current with COVID-19 vaccines and ask that they wear a mask in public settings if not current. Naturally, state, local, or college-specific health regulations will apply if conditions change.

We welcome proposals in political science and political topics from history, philosophy, psychology, gender studies, economics, law, organizational studies, sociology, and those using multidisciplinary approaches. If you are not sure where your paper fits, please contact the 2025 Program Co-Chairs at programchair@nyspsa.org.

NYSPSA prohibits multiple paper submissions. If you are proposing a paper, please submit an abstract of no more than 500 words by accessing this link on our website. The abstract should include a paper topic or research question, approach or methods, and preliminary findings.

NYSPSA enthusiastically welcomes proposals from international participants. Please note: NYSPSA does NOT provide financial support for international participants in the way of waived or reduced membership and conference fees. NYSPSA can provide to foreign nationals a formal confirmation of acceptance on its letterhead. In some cases, we can accommodate pre-recorded panels from groups of international scholars, but the organization of such panels will be up to the scholars themselves. For more information on pre-recorded international participant panels please contact the Program Co-Chairs.

Undergraduate panels are separate and will be comprised of undergraduate student presenters. Undergraduate students MUST submit their proposals to the Undergraduate Section. All undergraduates submitting a paper MUST have a faculty sponsor. Please review the guidelines for undergraduate proposals by accessing this link. You can also select “79th Annual Conference Information” on our homepage top navigation bar and select “Guidelines for Submission by Undergraduates” from the menu.

If you are proposing a full panel, please note that individual papers must be accepted (that is, we will require information on the individual papers before a panel proposal can be accepted). Additionally, all proposed panels must have a minimum of three papers and a maximum of five. Access the form here.

To submit a proposal, please visit our website and select “Submit Conference Proposals Here” under the tab "79th Annual Conference Information – 2025" on the top navigation bar. NYSPSA offers a Best Paper award with cash prizes. Please click here for more information.
