New York State Political Science Association 2023 Annual Conference March 31-April 1, 2023 Hosted by: Wagner College, Staten Island, NY No longer accepting proposal submissions Deadline Passed - (Accepting Proposals Until January 30, 2023)
The New York State Political Science Association invites proposals for panels or individual papers for our 77th Annual Conference March 31-April 1, 2023. Please visit our website at https://www.nyspsa.org/ for more information. The 2023 Annual Conference once again will be live and in-person! However, we request that all in-person attendees be vaccinated against COVID-19 and ask that they wear a mask in public settings if not vaccinated. Naturally, state, local, or college-specific health regulations will apply if conditions change. We welcome proposals in political science and political topics from history, philosophy, psychology, gender studies, economics, law, organizational studies, sociology, and those using multidisciplinary approaches. If you are not sure where your paper fits, please contact this year’s program chairs at programchair@nyspsa.com. NYSPSA prohibits multiple paper submissions. If you are proposing a paper, please submit an abstract of no more than 500 words (see the link on our website). The abstract should include a paper topic or research question, approach or methods, and preliminary findings. NYSPSA enthusiastically welcomes proposals from international participants. Please note: NYSPSA does NOT provide financial support for international participants in the way of waived or reduced membership and conference fees. NYSPSA can provide to foreign nationals a formal confirmation of acceptance on its letterhead. In some cases, we can accommodate pre-recorded panels from groups of international scholars, but the organization of such panels will be up to the scholars themselves. For more information on pre-recorded international participant panels please contact the program co-chairs at programchair@nyspsa.org. Undergraduate panels are separate from other panels and will only be comprised of undergraduate students. Undergraduate students MUST submit their proposals to the undergraduate section. All undergraduates submitting a paper MUST have a faculty sponsor. Please review the guidelines for undergraduate proposals by clicking on this link. You can also select “Conference” on the top navigation bar of our homepage and select “Undergraduate Paper Submission and Evaluation Guidelines” from the menu. If you are proposing a full panel, please note that individual papers must be accepted (that is, we will require information on the individual papers before a panel proposal can be accepted). Additionally, all proposed panels must have a minimum of three papers and a maximum of five. In order to submit a proposal please visit our website at https://www.nyspsa.org/ and select the “Abstract Submission” link under the tab for "77th Annual Conference Information" on the top navigation bar. NYSPSA offers a Best Paper award with cash prizes. Please click here for more information.
